A Week Without

Every New Year's I make a resolution. I have almost never kept them all year. So instead of making another one, I'm just gonna have a new one every week. So here's where I need your help. Post things that I can go without for a week (that's reasonable). I'm making a list of 52 things and I'll post them up when I finish. --Jake

Nicknames so far.

Alright so throughout the years of growing up for some reason I have had quite a few nicknames and I thought I would try and go through and list them all for you to see and a little reason behind them.

           1. Dylpickle- My grandpa and my Dad mostly called me this as a kid.

                                   2. Dylworm- In elementary school one of friends at the time called me this a few times. 3. Dylhole- Again an elementary school kid trying to be funny.

                                4. Dylweed- Once again just another friend in elementary school trying to be clever.

                                 5. DylHill- My last name is Hillman so there ya go, a few people have called me this.

                 6.Dylpill- Pill rhymes with dyl but keeps it different from hill, not too deep.

                  7. I Don't know kid- Apparently I use this word a lot and so some random                acquaintance said he was going to call me this.  

                                 8. Cookie boy- I was doing some work with my youth group to earn money to go to          summer camp, I ate cookies in a funny way, a woman who helped out with the youth group started calling me cookie boy.

                                 9. Mullet Man- My best friend growing up called me this quite a few times after I had cut  my hair and it was slightly longer in the back.

                                 10. Crzydyl- I think I came up with this one, I was younger and don't remember why i did.

                             11. The worm- these two black guys who I use to see at the skatepark a lot started    calling me this during a contest at an all night skate because I had been trying to ollie over something and they    said when I would bust and fall I looked like a worm. ( that name stuck for a couple of years)

                                12. The Captain- One of those same black guys from the skatepark came up with this new nick name after I had landed a gnarly trick I had been trying to land for over an hour. (he gave me this new nickname for landing the trick, because let's face it The Worm is not that great of a nick name, I let others know, it is now tattooed on me).

                               13. Dylan "aquatips" Hillman- After spraypainting something, I had blue spraypaint on   my fingers and patrick thought it would be funny to say in a deep dramatic voice, "They called him Dylan Aquatips Hillman".

                              14. Peanuts- My girlfriend's mom thought this would be a cute nickname for me after    she thought she had heard sophie call me peanuts.

                              15. Dr.Go- My friend James has nicknames for everybody and he started calling me    this and for a while I didn't even know why. It stands for Damned Rattailed Giant Ostrich.

                                 16. The Great Dylando!- My friends Dad started calling me this and I don't remember why.

Most Kings Get They Head Cut-off.

Incase you didn't know Jay-z came out with a book recently called Decoded. I looked it up online and I found myself scrolling down through the pages of the book that they were showing online, intrigued not wanting to stop reading. I eventually made myself stop reading because during that time I had made the decision to buy it. It seems like it is going to be a fun read. It's not necessarily about his struggle growing up, but mostly about rap and hip-hop, how he found rap and how it affected him, how it grew and became bigger and bigger. There are lots of lyrics and a few images for your eyes to look at. I barely ever read but I am quite stoked about this book and can't wait to fully check it out. Hit me up if you would like to borrow it after Im finished reading. -dyl

Triple Review

In the past two days I manage to see probably three of the best movies to come out in 2010: True Grit, The Fighter, and Black Swan. All three were equally awesome in there own way. True Grit is a remake of a 1969 John Wayne movie of the same title. I've never seen the original so I can't compare the two, but I don't like John Wayne so I'm gonna go ahead and say the remake was better. True Grit is about a young girl who hires a man called Rooster Cogburn (Jeff Bridges) to hunt down her father's killer. It also stars Matt Damon and Josh Brolin and was directed by the Coen Brothers.

Next was The Fighter, which is about the rise of a Massachusetts-born lightweight boxer (Mark Wahlberg). Christian Bale stars as his crack-addicted half-brother/trainer. Amy Adams is also in the movie which is enough reason alone to go see it.

And last but not least is Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan starring Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis. That is enough reason for you to go see it, I'm not even gonna say anything else about it. So go do your own triple feature at your local movie theatre and see these films! --Jake

Retard Wizard.

Me and my brother lil Cody Go Hard are now in a band together called Retard Wizard. I play drums, Jake plays bass, Patrick plays guitar, and Cody sings. Right now we are working on writing songs and our first official show is supposed to be on January the 14th. Here are a few pics of us practicing,  I can't wait to get rowdy.

Ebay Score

The other day me and my buddy (let's just call him Danger) won one of the best auctions ever on ebay. What is it you ask? oh, nothing but a lot of Front Magazine! If you don't know what that is, I hate you. We didn't think we were gonna win, but we did! And well under our highest bar. So on it's way from Oregon is a box with the best magazine to ever exist. I am beyond excited. maybe if you're lucky you can look through some and see what a real woman looks like. --Jake

As of late.

Sorry guys for not posting as much as usual but hopefully you will forgive us. A couple of reasons for this is because I have been working on my art trying to make some money and get some new pieces together for an art show coming up with all local artist. I also have been helping my brother work on a banner for our band, Retard Wizard. We also have been working on practicing and writing new songs for our band( right now we have 3). Lastly is that it's the holidays and that means Sophie is town and I want to hang out with her as much as possible. So not much time to post and often have a tough time thinking of rad things for your eyes to see. Be patient and just keep checking back in and we will post the rad, absurd, and fun things you know and love. -Dyl

New Goal

Alright, so I like to set random goals for myself just to see if I have enough discipline to follow through. I don't always do. Some of the goals that I tried and failed are: to not shop at Wal-Mart and to not eat meat. The ones I am currently doing are: not to support Starbucks, not cutting my beard for a year (ends in June), no sex for 7 years (year 3 right now), never get married or have children. Now all those goals are extremely easy, so here's where I need your help. Find me a goal (year or for a lifetime) for me to complete that will actually be hard. The goals I've set that might be challenging are to visit all 50 states, spend half a year or longer in another continent, and the x-rated one (if you're my friend you know). So put on the thinking cap and find me something even more challenging to do! --Jake

Stick + Poke

Tonight i gave Raiven her first tattoo Dalzell style; which is two needles wrapped together with thread and dipped in India Ink and then lots of pokes, in honor of her one year stay at Dalzell.  246 is our address at Dalzell. Everyone who lives here (except for Dave)  has a 246 tattoo. Now Raiven is down for life. -Dyl
